Designers winning awards using pond dye
More and more garden designers are winning awards using pond dye Dyofix Pond Black.
The pond dye was used to great effect in the Colour Box garden, designed by Charlie Bloom & Simon Webster.
The purpose behind the design was to show how a garden can be designed on a small budget and a lot of help from friends within the horticultural community.
Focusing on plants and people the exuberant colours clash splendidly, using the drought tolerant, pollinator friendly Achilleas and other perennials and grasses.
The simple design of the garden’s backdrop allows the plants to take centre stage, accented by the black mirror-finish surface of the black pond, divided by stone.
The garden is the result of asking for ‘help’ – the designers’ vision was to create something stunning, in spite of having no financial sponsorship, and demonstrates what can be accomplished on a small budget. Connecting through Twitter, the team that has given time to this project represents a diverse group of people and trades.
